Tour Of Play Featuring Hollywood Legends Postponed

Ali MacGraw, Ryan O’Neal

The UK tour of a play about the enduring power of love through the generations which was set to reunite two noted Hollywood movie legends has been postponed.

Love Letters was due to come to Norwich Theatre Royal on October 10-14 and feature former Love Story co-stars Ryan O’Neal and Ali MacGraw.

The show’s producer David Ian said: “The tour is unfortunately postponed due to Ryan O’Neal requiring back surgery and a period of post-operative recovery. We send Ryan our best wishes and hope he has a speedy recuperation.”

Customers who have already booked seats with Norwich Theatre Royal will be contacted in the next few days with full details of a refund for their tickets.

The show has previously enjoyed a critically-acclaimed Broadway run and US tour. It follows the love affair between Andrew Makepeace Ladd III and Melissa Gardner which begins with a love letter at the age of seven. The couple continue to pen notes to each other over half a decade while their lives are shaped by wars, marriages, careers and children.
