She’s been called the “comic laureate of unglamorous-but-glorious womanhood” by The Guardian, but now award-winning comedienne Sarah Millican is declaring herself a one-woman ‘control enthusiast’ as tickets go on sale for her new 2018 UK stand-up tour which stops off at Norwich Theatre Royal on Sunday, March 18, next year.
On her previous visit to the city in August last year, tickets sold out fast, so dedicated fans are advised to book early when ticket sales open at 10am on Friday.
The fast-chatting, bubbly and ever-so nice Sarah will be regaling audiences on how she isn’t a control freak, but a control enthusiast. You’ll learn about Rescue Men, what can happen at a bra fitting, the benefits of casserole, plus tips on how to talk to shop assistants and the correct way to eat a biscuit.
Sarah’s fifth tour, Control Enthusiast!, will mark ten years since she established herself as one of the leading lights of the British Comedy scene by winning the Best Newcomer Award at the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe.
Since then, Sarah has gone on to host three series of her critically-acclaimed BBC2 series The Sarah Millican Television Programme, for which she received two BAFTA nominations, and she has become a familiar face on primetime shows such as QI, Live at the Apollo and The Royal Variety Performance.
In October 2017 she will release her first book, How To Be Champion, which is part autobiography, part self-help, part confession, part celebration of being a common-or-garden woman. She has recently launched the Standard Issue podcast, a smart, funny magazine-style show made for women by women.
Control Enthusiast will run for 129 dates across the UK, starting in January and finishing in December 2018, with tickets going on sale nationally this Friday, June 30. Sarah’s last tour, Outsider, was seen by over 225,000 people.
Tickets for Sarah Millican – Control Enthusiast! range in price from £8 to £27.50.
An allocation of seats will be held off sale until Theatre Friends receive their new brochure on July 20.
