From William Kemp’s 9-day Morris dance from London to Norwich in 1600, to the Kemp restaurant here at the Theatre, we’ve long had a relationship with Shakespeare here in the Fine City.
And on 21 October, the RSC are visiting to offer a teacher training day in our brand new Stage Two building. ‘Active Approaches to Shakespeare’ is aimed at Key Stage Two teachers, and explores how rehearsal room techniques can engage and inspire students in English and Drama.
Focusing on Romeo & Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, this course will give you first-hand experience of the techniques actors use to unlock Shakespeare’s language – all of them directly transferable to a primary classroom. Lunch will be provided, alongside resources for use in-school.
The course will be practical and active, so be sure to wear loose, comfortable clothing. The cost is £45, and places are limited.
To book your place, contact Jason on 01603 598623 or firstname.lastname@example.org, including full contact details, dietary requirements, and your school and year taught.
