From soap star to pop star to theatre star, a stage and screen icon is heading back to Norwich Theatre Royal as part of his first UK concert tour in four years.
Jason Donovan is taking to the stage on Sept 20, 2020, with his Even More Good Reasons show which is sure to be a much-sought-after show.
Tickets went on sale to Friends of the Theatre today, with the public sale beginning on Monday morning.
Jason shot to fame in the late Eighties playing Scott Robinson in Neighbours with his on-screen wedding to Charlene Mitchell attracting 19.6m viewers.
He also enjoyed a hugely successful parallel pop career from the late Eighties onwards with his album Ten Good Reasons becoming the best-selling album of 1989.
And many of his songs became huge-sellers including Too Many Broken Hearts, Especially For You, Any Dream Will Do, Sealed With A Kiss, and Nothing Can Divide Us.
Jason is also no stranger to the stage with a host of previous credits including Joseph, The Rocky Horror Show, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Sound Of Music.
He is also forging a strong career behind the scenes producing a tour of Priscilla Queen Of The Desert and also won acclaim for a hugely successful summer run in Joseph at the London Palladium opposite Sheridan Smith.
John Bultitude, of Norwich Theatre Royal, said: “It is exciting to welcome Jason Donovan back to Norwich. From entertaining excitable clubbers at Norwich nightspot Ritzy’s in the late Eighties to his last appearance on our stage in the Fifties musical-drama Million Dollar Quartet back in 2017, his fan-base will relish the chance to hear his voice and enjoy his warm Aussie charm once again.”
