The award-winning comedian and actor Omid Djalili is set to make his return to Norwich Theatre Royal this spring, and only a handful of tickets are left.
The show entitled Schmuck For A Night has created brisk box office business, and the theatre’s John Bultitude said people need to book now to avoid missing out on seeing him on April 23. “Omid is promising a mix of the provocative and the laugh-out-loud funny in his new show with what is sure to be an energetic and captivating comedy masterclass,” said John.
It aims to help the audience make sense of the world around them while also featuring lots of topical material. Omid joked: “It will be so current that sometimes audiences will not laugh until they get home and turn on the TV.”
The Norwich visit is part of a 100-plus date tour which is taking him all over the country including venues like the Shepherd’s Bush Empire and Hammersmith Apollo.
As well as a much-loved stand-up performer, Omid is also an acclaimed actor with credits ranging from Hollywood movies like The Mummy, Gladiator and Sex And The City 2 through television like Going Forward, Dickensian and Stan Lee’s Lucky Man to West End shows like Oliver!
Omid was also executive producer of the acclaimed documentary We Are Many about the global anti-war demonstrations that took place in 800 cities on February 15th 2003.
He also produced the Edinburgh Fringe show Iraq Out And Loud which saw almost 1500 comedians and members of the public read the entire Chilcot Report for 24 hours a day over 12 days winning the prestigious Panel Prize at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards.
Omid Dajili will be here on 23 April and a last few tickets are still available.
