Join Joe McElderry for Saturday Night At The Movies

Joe McElderry - August 6

South Shields singing star Joe McElderry won hearts as the winner of X-Factor in 2009, and showed his versatility by winning the second series of Popstar to Operastar in 2011, not to mention The Jump in 2014 which saw him transform into a competent ski jumper to take the winner’s laurels once more.

Now the platinum-selling recording artist is set to tour the country following the release of his fifth studio album, Saturday Night at the Movies – and he arrives on stage at Norwich Theatre Royal on August 6.

Following that X-Factor win as an 18-year-old, Joe’s debut single from the show, The Climb, went on to the top of the charts and was nominated for the Best British Single BRIT award in 2010.

In the following years, he released four more top 20 albums – two of which reached the UK top three – from his 2010 debut album Wide Awake to his second and third, Classic and Classic Christmas, and then his fourth where he collaborated with Ludovico Einaudi and Marcella Detroit on Here’s What I Believe.

His new album, Saturday Night at the Movies LIVE, which he will be featuring on the tour, includes iconic hits from film and theatre such as I’m Into Something Good, Love is All Around and Daydream Believer, as well as the hit single Gloria which was written by renowned songwriter and 10CC front man Graham Gouldman.

Touring the county will come as second nature to Joe as he has spent the past five months working his way around the UK in a national tour of Bill Kenwright’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, appearing in the lead role. He also played the lead role in Tommy: The Rock Opera at Blackpool Opera House in 2015.

Joe will be joined on stage by special guests, X-Factor’s Lloyd Daniels and Any Dream Will Do runners up Keith Jack and Ben James-Ellis, who have all also featured in Bill Kenwright’s Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat (Lloyd Daniels starring in the role on the Norwich Theatre Royal stage in 2014).

Joe McElderry is here on August 6, and tickets are available now.
