Interested in the arts but don’t know how to get involved?
Fancy doing something that’s not just fun; it leads to qualifications equivalent to a GCSE or more?
This month, we launch Arts Award Club, a chance to explore the world of the arts in a way that lets you focus on what interests you. With 5 levels to choose from, catering for ages 7-25, there’s bound to be something for everyone.
Perhaps you’d like to create your own artwork, or perform a piece of theatre? Or maybe your talents lie offstage – perhaps in design, or even marketing and events management. Arts Award Club lets you choose the areas that interest you. It will include opportunities to explore backstage, examine the different departments who run the theatre (from the box office to the wardrobe team), research artists, and create for yourself.
The first term begins on 23 February, and places are limited; book on now at bit.ly/ArtsAwardClub
Victoria Jenkins, who is part of the team running the Arts Course Club here at the theatre, explains: “This is a great chance to explore your creative interests and really focus on the artforms that interest you. We’re looking forward to finding out what Arts Award Club members want to do, and we’ll be building our activities around that so everyone can discover at their own pace. So whether you’re a budding actor or you’ve got a flair for scriptwriting, here’s your chance to experience it in a working theatre. But hurry, we’re limited to just 20 places this term, and they’re sure to fill up fast!”
